Research in social neuroscience fosters our understanding of the development of social and emotional competence in the classroom. This translates into essential instructional elements for students with autism while creating a Universal Design for Learning (UDL) for all students. The outcomes of the Social Emotional Engagement Knowledge and Skills (SEE-KS) focus on ensuring learning strategies to promote access, engagement and expression of learning across various stages of development.
This session supports fostering high-quality personnel preparation and professional development through discussions about how system-wide professional learning can focus on sustainability and will include: identifying internal resources, schoolwide trainings, building effective coaching practices and data specifics to increase educator knowledge, practices (skills) as well as learner success through cognitive, social and emotional engagement.
