This presentation looks at how pre-service teachers learned about UDL by completing an assignment to attempt to use the frame of UDL to create more accessibility in an Elementary School Office. The University students interviewed users of an elementary school office environment. University students then created a plan for the office environment to be more accessible for all users, in particular those in the margins (i.e., students with special education needs, families with students who experience special education needs). The potential benefits include providing a record of the process for the participants, research reflections, and an example of a school striving to provide access to the school office environment for all users.
