So you’re here, you’re a UDL true believer! But you’re starting to realize that Universal Design for Learning is a massive idea… or framework...or paradigm shift… or “whatever”. Especially when you start thinking about implementation in learning environments. You don’t want it to be “just another initiative” but you also realize there are so many other initiatives for it to compete with. What are you to do? Well, what if we didn’t view UDL as an initiative? What if it wasn’t THE thing? What if it was larger? What if we reconsidered it as an Operating System for learner centered design. What if it wasn’t THE thing but the architecture that structures everything? In this End of Average Talk we’ll examine the characteristics of UDL as something larger than we thought but still driven by human and learner centered design.
