Joni Degner is a member of the CAST Professional Learning Cadre and a full time UDL facilitator for Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation (BCSC) in Columbus, Indiana, a district on the national stage for UDL practices and implementation. Prior to becoming a UDL facilitator, she was a high school English teacher for BCSC. In her role as a UDL facilitator, she designs professional development in Universal Design for Learning and Cultural Responsiveness for teachers and leadership in BCSC and works shoulder-to-shoulder with teachers to deepen their UDL knowledge and implementation. She has facilitated Universal Design for Learning conferences and workshops for other secondary and post-secondary locally and nationally. She has been a presenter for the BCSC UDL Institute, the CAST UDL Symposium, and the Indiana Department of Education’s State Development Network.
