Dr. Liz Berquist is currently the Coordinator of Professional Growth for the Baltimore County Public Schools. In this role she designs and deliver professional learning for the district with a focus on empowering teachers and students through the UDL framework. Prior to this role, Liz served as a faculty member in the Department of Special Education at Towson University in Maryland.  Liz has also been a member of the CAST faculty cadre since 2011.  In this role, she has traveled across the United States working with school districts and institutes of higher education with a focus on implementation science, coaching, professional learning communities.  Dr. Berquist is a frequent presenter at national conferences and is also an invited facilitator for the Harvard Graduate School of Education Programs in Professional Education Summer UDL Institute. She is featured in the UDL Series Implementation video, produced by the National Center on Universal Design for Learning. Liz contributed to and edited the book “UDL Moving from Exploration to Integration” which is the first book to consider scaled-up implementation of Universal Design for Learning in schools, districts, and states. Dr. Berquist holds a BA in American Studies and History, a Master's Degree in Special Education and a doctoral degree in Instructional Technology. She is is certified in in Social Studies, Special Education and has an Administrator I and II endorsement.
