Kirsten Omelan, PhD, has worked in the field of special education for more than 15 years. She is currently an education specialist in the Special Education Department at the Region 4 Education Service Center in Texas, where she is the lead for Access to the General Curriculum initiatives. Ms. Omelan has practical experience as a special education teacher, department chair, and supervisor for special education programming in K-12 settings. She conducts professional development, provides coaching, creates resources, and supports multiyear UDL implementation efforts for several campuses and districts throughout the region.
