Ricki Sabia has worked in the federal education policy field since 2002. Her areas of focus are the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, the Every Student Succeeds Act, Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and inclusive education. Ricki founded the National UDL Task Force in 2006 and chaired it until 2013. She remains a member of the Task Force and is also a member of the National UDL Council, which is working on the UDL Credentialing and Certification Initiative. In addition, Ricki is the Senior Education Policy Advisor for the National Down Syndrome Congress. In that capacity, she provides families with resources to help them advocate for their child’s education at the school, district, state and federal levels. Ricki also advocates with Congress and the U.S. Department of Education on behalf of students and their families.
